The media awards - knowns as the Emmas - honour public figures who have helped encourage multi-culturalism in the UK.
Footballer David Beckham has also received a nomination, for the sports personality, for his "inspiration to young people of all cultures".
The awards, voted for by the public, will be broadcast on BBC Two on 30 May.

Nominees in the best TV actor category are Casualty's Kwame Kwei-Armah, EastEnders' Gary Beadle, Holby City's Art Malik, Canterbury's Tales' Chiwetel Ejiofor and Hustle star Adrian Lester
TV actresses nominated included Nina Wadia for All About Me, Julia Sawalha for Jonathan Creek and ER actress Parminder Nagra for her role in Second Generation.
